What is Aromatherapy?
Clinical Aromatherapy involves the use of essential oils for therapeutic purposes. An essential oil comes from an aromatic plant. Smells can have instant physical and psychological effects-just thinking about a smell can evoke reactions and feelings! Essential oils have many actions including anti-inflammatory, calming, stimulating, antispasmodic, and more.
Methods of administration/use of essential oils:
- Topical using external skin via touch, compress or bath
- Inhaled directly or indirectly with or without steam
